Anthony Cifelli

U.S. Veteran

Anthony “Mort” “Tony” Cifelli of Washington Twp, NJ, formerly of South Philadelphia, died June 30, 2012. The 7th of 10 children, he lived 80 fulfilling years as a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and pop pop. A friendly person and a great story teller, he captured the attention of any stranger he met. When he wasn't wiping tears away from his children or grandchildren's eyes with his "magic" hanky, he was body surfing on the beach or cheering on the Flyers. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Catherine (nee Elentrio). Father of Lucia Kennedy (John) of Washington Twp., Anthony Cifelli, III of Bridgeton, Marc Cifelli (Robin) of Bellmawr and Joanne Lu (Paul) of Quakertown, PA. Brother of Philomena Filardi of Sicklerville and Anna Marsala of Philadelphia. Grandfather of Michael, Matthew, Christina, Christian, Alicia, Cameron and Allie.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family Saturday 9:30am to 11am at BOUCHER FUNERAL HOME, 1757 Delsea Dr., Deptford. Memorial service Saturday 11am at the funeral home. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ. Mort was such a cheerful person who disliked the darkness of mourning at funerals that he requested his loved ones to celebrate his life by wearing bright colors such as red. As Mort used to fondly say every morning down the shore, surf's up!
