William E. Jensen “Bill” on April 23, 2019 of Woodbury. Age 89. Husband of the late Rosemarie (nee Pitzo). Loving father of William C. Jensen (Gloria) of Audubon and the late David Jensen (Linda). Beloved brother of Carole Misinkivitch (Andrew) of Wenonah and the late Betty Signor (Jack) of Ridley Park, PA. Devoted grandfather of Natalie Jean, David Joseph and Luke William. Also survived by his grand dog “Jolly.” Bill grew up in South Philadelphia and knew the city very well. He had a story for every street corner, park and athletic field that he frequented as a young man. He was proud of his Scandinavian heritage and his athletic accomplishments as a football star at South Philadelphia High School. He was a devout catholic and a compassionate conservative. He believed strongly in the principles of hard work and self-reliance. Bill was a US Korean War Veteran and spent most of his working life in the marine (shipping) industry for Chevron/Gulf Oil Corporation in Philadelphian and Houston, Texas. He was a former Republican Councilman in Woodbury Heights, NJ and served as the parish administrator/business manager at St. Margaret’s RC Church. In his later years, he resided at the Woodbury Mews where he made many friends. He enjoyed singing, reading and writing poetry. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and 76ers fan. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, April 29, 2019 from 9am to 10am at Holy Angels Parish Worship Center, 96 Green Ave., Woodbury, NJ 08096. February 23, 1930 - April 23, 2019
