John Michael Schneider, Jr.

John Michael Schneider, Jr., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on November 12, 2023, age 46 years. Survived by his mother and father, John and Mary Schneider (Mullin); his siblings Jenine Peters (Brandon) of Deptford, NJ; Bernadette Corrigan (Barney) of Westville NJ; Dana Schneider of Jeffersonville, PA; Daniel Schneider of Washington D.C.; his nieces and nephews: Joleigh, Emily, Kaden, Brandon Corrigan, Collin & Gavin Peters. Johnny is also survived by many aunts, uncles, & cousins. Johnny has many surviving friends who are all considered family. Johnny went home to the Lord and is holding his nephew Brett and favorite dogs in his arms. He has many loved ones in Heaven to greet. Johnny stayed strong through life’s many obstacles. Despite many physical and mental obstacles in his life, he has accomplished so much, which included: being a Deptford Township High School alumnus (class of 1995); playing high school football, completing his Associate’s Degree in the Human Development Program at Gloucester County College, student teaching at St. John of God/Arch Bishop Damiano School, completing his Bachelor of Arts Degree at Villanova University, then attending the AmeriCorps Program for his Master’s Degree in Washington D.C., where he taught 5th grade. Johnny also was a classroom aide at Good Intent Elementary, Central, Oak Valley Elementary and Monongahela Middle Schools in Deptford, NJ. Unfortunately, Johnny had to leave his educational career due to illness. He has been an inspiration to so many both inside and outside of the Deptford Community. Some of the best times in his life were traveling to the Philadelphia Eagles games around the country, with his best buddy- his dad. Johnny loved having season tickets with his dad to the Eagles games and sharing those moments with family & friends. This poem says a lot about Johnny’s outlook on life: Laughter Something we need to get us through the day. Can take away stress and relax you in many ways. It’s a wonderful gift because you never know when you’ll receive it. Feels so good and makes you never want to forget. How you feel at that time and who brought you that joy. Makes you feel young, like a little girl or a boy. If something makes you laugh, embrace the moment. Because it’s something special that can make you feel content. Laughter is contagious and should be shared with friends. I love it when I laugh, and will ‘til life ends! Written by: John M.
