Lilia Aparente Aragoncillo Gaano January 23, 1949 – July 15, 2025 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and matriarch, Lilia Aparente Aragoncillo Gaano, who departed this life on July 15, 2025, in Deptford, New Jersey, at the age of 76. Born on January 23, 1949, in Manila, Philippines, Lilia lived a life filled with deep love, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. Lilia was the devoted wife of the late Ferdinand Gaano, and together they built a home rooted in faith, kindness, and enduring love. She was a proud and loving mother to Steven Gaano, Andrew Gaano, and Stephanie Duke. She welcomed with open arms her daughter-in-law Rose Gaano and son-in-law Michael Duke, cherishing them as her own. Lilia found her greatest joy in being a grandmother. She was affectionately known as “Lola” to Quinn and Zoe Gaano, and Jayden and Dominic Duke. Her presence in their lives was a source of endless comfort, stories, laughter, and unconditional love. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fidel and Veronica Aragoncillo, and her brothers Ludivindo, Lorenzo, and Lamberto Aragoncillo. She is survived by her brothers Leonardo and Leandro Aragoncillo, who carry on her memory with love and pride. Lilia’s life was anchored in deep faith. Her relationship with God guided her every step, and she modeled grace, prayerfulness, and compassion in both quiet moments and daily acts of love. Her rosary was never far from reach, and she often prayed for others before herself. She was also a passionate Philadelphia 76ers fan, proudly cheering on her team through every season. Whether watching a game with family or wearing her Sixers gear around the house, Lilia’s love for basketball—especially her Sixers—was a source of fun and connection for everyone around her. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and quiet resilience touched all who knew her. Whether she was cooking a favorite Filipino dish, offering thoughtful advice, or simply sitting beside you in silence, Lilia had a way of making everyone feel seen and loved. Her love language was service, and she gave without asking for anything in return. Though she has left this world, her legacy lives on in the values she passed down, the memories she created, and the family she so fiercely loved. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Monday, July 21, 2025 from 10am to 12noon at Infant Jesus Parish at St. Margaret's RC Church, 3rd & Beech Sts., Woodbury Heights, NJ 08097. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12noon at the church. Entombment New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
