Francis R. Messner, Sr.

Francis R. Messner, Sr. “Big Fran” of Deptford NJ, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2019 at Age 65. He was born on May 20, 1953 in Woodbury, New Jersey to the late Charles Messner and Anna Ralston. Francis was a loving husband to his wife; Sharon Messner (nee Laute), father to his beloved children; the late Brenda Messner, Francis R. Messner, Jr. (Erica), Dawn Jamison (Robert), Jason Messner and Stefanie Gigante (John), and step children; Melissa Messner (Hyman), Thomas Messner, Jr., and Jesse Messner, and furry companion; Si. Francis was a loyal brother to Charles J. Messner, Jr. (Cora), Robert Messner, Sr. (Marge), George Messner (Sharon), the late James Messner, Sr. (Lorraine), the late Raymond Messner and the late Theresa Messner. Francis was also faithful grandfather to his 12 grandchildren: Jessica Harrell, A'niya Dorsey, Francis Messner, III, Cameron Messner, Carmalina Gigante, Michael Harrell, Rai'Lee Burchell, Brandon Harrell, A'Leeyah Hyman, John Gigante, III, Hailey Jamison, and Tehya Messner. Big Fran was a farmer most of his life and the devoted owner of FRM Trucking in Deptford. He enjoyed going to his "Happy Place" at the Bay Shore Campground, fishing, crabbing, hunting, riding his Harley, traveling, going to the auction, his tractor and trailers, the pig farm and spending time with his large family. Big Fran was a simple man who enjoyed having a good time surrounded by good people, and he will be dearly missed by all of those in his life.
