Harry Deluzio, Jr.

Harry Deluzio, Jr. of West Deptford, age 78, passed away on April 25, 2023. Harry was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 5, 1944. He was a graduate of Woodbury High School. He went directly into the Air Force on July 11, 1962 and eventually became an AirPoliceman. Most of his time in the service was spent overseas. His last assignment was in Athens, Greece where he met and married Rita Germain, a Canadian. He was honorably discharged on July 10, 1966 and brought his wife and a baby boy, (Antonio) home with him to New Jersey. Harry and Rita eventually had two other children, Chris and Laura. Harry lived in NJ his entire life and devoted his years to having fun with cars, friends, and spending time with Rita, their children, and grandchildren. He loved to travel and he and Rita travelled all over the world with their favorite country being Greece, where they met and married. He loved telling stories about his life as a New Jersey State Trooper, where he served for 30 years. His love of cars was quite evident with the numerous cars, some unique, that he owned and usually repaired at his body shop, "Al's Bump and Grind" in Paulsboro. Harry was famous for his words of wisdom and nicknames for everyone, like calling his sister, Nancy, "Ginny the Geek", based on her love of football gambling. He loved to go out for dinner Friday nights with his best friends and their spouses. This was the highlight of his week. Harry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rita A. (Germain) Deluzio, their 3 children, Tony Deluzio (wife Rita), Chris Deluzio (wife Jennifer), and Laura (Deluzio) Schiavo (husband Dan), and his 8 grandchildren, Emily, Ava, Amelia, Amanda, Ryan, Lilly, Alicia and Josh and devoted brother to Nancy (Deluzio) Gregor and husband Pete Gregor, and brother John Deluzio. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Harry's viewing on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 5pm to 8pm in The Chapel of BOUCHER FUNERAL HOME, 1757 Delsea Drive, Deptford, NJ 08096. Funeral Service at 8pm in the Chapel of the funeral home. Interment on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 11am at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
