Michael Lee “Woodsy” Kaminski, 65, of Deptford, passed away with his loving daughter by his side on August 24, 2026. Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Carol (nee Woolvin); his father; his brothers, Kevin and Jeffrey; his nephew, Jeffrey Jr. "Porky"; and Kathryn, the mother of his beloved daughter Rosalynne, with whom he shared a lasting bond. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Rosalynne Plum (Shawn); cherished grandsons, Tyler and Nathan; brother Gregory; and extended family. Michael loved adventure, having fun, and making memories. He was a man who enjoyed life, loved to party, and always had a story to tell. When Rosalynne was a little girl, Michael would go skydiving while she camped with him in a tent during those weekends. They went skating, saw movies, rode bikes, went fishing, had bonfires, and spent time with his friends. Michael loved those memories and would tell the stories again and again. He had many stories from throughout his life and never seemed to tire of sharing his favorites. One of those favorite stories was the time he jumped out of a second-floor classroom at Monongahela Junior High in Deptford. Michael loved rock, hard rock, and the hair bands of the '80s. “Sweet Child o’ Mine” held a special place in Michael and Rosalynne’s relationship. Whenever he heard the song, he would call her. It was also the song they danced to together at Rosalynne’s wedding. Michael was a hard worker throughout his life and was known for being dependable and reliable. He worked construction in the '80s, where an accident with a saw resulted in the loss of the top of his thumb. The thumb was never found, but he turned the injury into a lifelong joke, using his stub to give people his famous “Pollock Pinch.” His family fondly remembers his cheesy egg sandwiches, nobody could make them like he did. We loved when he worked making rolls for Subway; they were delicious. More than anything, Michael was kind, helpful, and generous. Even when he had little himself, he would still give to others. He loved animals and, over the years, helped many of God’s critters, including cats, dogs, and at least twice, bats. His cats in Deptford held an especially special place in his heart, and he loved them dearly. Michael loved growing up in Deptford and remained there for most of his life. As a boy, he and his brothers spent countless hours outside playing in the woods and fields, making memories that stayed with him throughout his life. He loved being outdoors, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed paintball when he was younger, playing pinball, listening to music, and watching some of his favorite shows, including The Three Stooges and The Simpsons. To his daughter, he will always be Daddy. Rosalynne will especially miss hearing him call her “Pollock,” the special name that was uniquely his. Whenever she heard someone say, “Hey, you’re Pollock,” she knew they were one of his friends. Pollock wants to say, “Ich liebe dich, Daddy.” The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Deptford Township Police Department for looking out for Michael over the years.
